Engaging for Progress (Comms)
Strategic Communications for The TEP Centre
NEDIS 4
The Challenge
The Education Partnership Centre (TEP) is Nigeria’s pioneer education partnership consultancy. They have pushed the cause for quality education in Nigeria and are best known as the conveners of NEDIS (The Nigerian Education Innovation Summit); an annual gathering of stakeholders from the education sector and as Publishers of LEARNigeria an annual report designed to generate empirical data on the foundational literacy and numeracy skills that Nigerian children possess.
For the Fourth edition of NEDIS, held at Zone Tech Park Lagos, the sheer size and scope of the summit and number of engaged stakeholder groups required a specialized approach to communications, event planning and media-relationship management.
AML was engaged as the official strategic communications agency for The TEP Centre.
Our Approach
We were responsible for the implementation of a media and communications plan for NEDIS. We began by holding strategy meetings with the client to map out implementation. Once plans were decided, we swung into action. We drafted and distributed communications documents including and not limited to a monthly newsletter, press releases, news features and content for use in social media platforms we created. We finally closed the circle by drafting an evaluation strategy to ensure the impact and lessons of NEDIS were properly archived and utilised.
The Result
NEDIS 2018 was a big success with over 250 stakeholders engaged over 2 days. AML managed communications building anticipation up to the event with newsletters, articles and press releases for awareness and social media posts for amplification and engagement. This resulted in NEDIS 2018 trending online for both days of the event.
